Reports: Writing to Inform
Dedicated to: Miss Dorfman
Our second grade class has been studying the human body. We each chose one or two body parts to write a report on. I chose the tongue and the sense of taste. First, I will explain how the body part works. Then, I will tell how to keep the part healthy.
First, how does the sense
of taste work? First, food
goes into your mouth. The food
touches the taste buds on your tongue. Next,
the taste buds send a message to the brain.
The brain tells you what the food tastes like.
I think the tongue and the
sense of taste is amazing because it tells us if something is
sweet or sour or bitter or salty.
Now how do you keep your tongue and sense of taste healthy?
To keep your tongue healthy,
do not burn your tongue on hot food
or on anything freezing It can
damage your taste buds. I realize that taste buds are very important.
Now, I know about the
tongue and sense of taste and how
to keep my tongue healthy. I
will not touch my tongue on anything hot or cold because it could damage my
tongue. I think everyone should
learn about their tongue because it
is an important part of your body!
