Reports: Writing to Inform

Our second grade class has been studying the human body.  We each chose one or two body parts to write a report on.  I chose the lungs which  is a part of the Respiratory System. First, I will explain how the body part works.  Then, I will teach how to keep the body part healthy.

First, how  do the lungs work?  Your lungs let you blow and breath. Your lungs are in your chest and your lungs let fresh air get in.  You need air to stay alive  and when you breath, fresh air goes in your nose and  mouth and when you breath out the air gets pushed out.  When air comes through, it turns warm. There are a lot of tubes in your lungs .Your lungs are really important  and it helps you talk.  Your used air comes out when you breath out.  You have one lung on each side.  You need oxygen to live and when the air goes in, your lungs get bigger.  If you didn’t have lungs you would be dead because  you need to breath and talk.  I think the lungs are amazing because they let you blow, talk, and breath.

Now, how can you keep your lungs healthy. Don’t go buy cigarettes, it keeps your lungs dirty. Exercise makes your respiratory system stronger. I realize that you shouldn’t smoke or you would die faster, if you don’t smoke you would live longer.

First, I explained how the lungs work.  Then, I taught how to keep your lungs healthy. Now that I know how to keep my lungs healthy, I keep my lungs healthy. I will stay away from cigarettes because it can make my lungs black and dirty and it will make me die if I don’t stay away from them. I think everyone should stay away from cigarette smoke because it can make everybody’s lungs be black and dirty.
