Reports:  Writing  to Inform

Dedicated  to  my  friends

Our  second  grade  class  has  been  studying the  human  body.  We  each  chose  one  or two  body  parts  to  write  a  report  on. I  chose  bones  and  joints  which   is  a part  of  the  skeletal  system.  First, I  will   explain  how  the  body  part works.   Then, I  will  teach  how to  keep  the  body  part  healthy.

First, how  do  the  bones and joints  work? If  you  had  no  bones you  would  be spaghetti.  There  are 206 bones.  A  baby has  300  bones.  A  bone  has  a  compact  bone  and a spongy  bone  and  a  bone  marrow and a blood vessel.  Your strongest bone is the thigh bone.  A joint is where bones meet.  There are joints in the elbow.  I think the bones and joints are amazing because if you had no bones you would not be able to walk.

Now,  how  can  you  keep your  bones   and joints healthy ?  You need calcium.  You need lots of dairy products.  You  need   vitamin D.  You need phosphorus. You also need beans and fish.  I realize that you need dairy to keep your bones and joints strong.

First, I explained how the bones and joints work and then I taught how to keep your bones and joints healthy.  Now that I know how to keep my bones and joints healthy, I will eat dairy  and drink dairy to keep healthy so I can be fit.  I think everyone should eat beef, Vitamin D, beans, fish, calcium and be out in the sun so your bones can stay healthy and strong.
