H.O. Wheeler Elementary School
Mission Statement
The H.O. Wheeler Elementary School is a Neighborhood city School located in the Old North End of Burlington, Vermont. We are a supportive group of educators striving to meet the needs of the culturally diverse student population. We believe that the Wheeler School, including students, staff, families, and community, has the responsiblity to strive for academic excellence. We believe that a child's physical, academic, social and emotional success is dependent upn the continuing and consistent involvement among parents, students, staff and community.
Believing that through education each child can reach his/her potential, H.O. Wheeler Elementary School strives:

To develop the student's self-esteem by education the whole child (physical, emotional, social and intellectual;

To provide a secure, nurturing and supportive environment for all;

To provide a clean, well maintained, aesthetically pleasing building and ground;

To encourage life long learning in the school and community;

To empower each person with the necessary skills to become active and responsible citizens;
